The Council also operates a Community Wellbeing telephone line to support South Lanarkshire
residents. It is not for emergencies such as when you might need police or ambulance services, or for
enquiries about normal services like bin collections. You should continue to make use of the usual
telephone numbers for these. However, this helpline does provide access to advice and can link you
to local services and community volunteers in your area if needed.

Healthy Valleys: Healthy Valleys is a community led health initiative that supports communities in rural South Lanarkshire. They focus on providing opportunities for local people to improve their health and wellbeing and build stronger communities, e.g. walking and cycling programmes, bike maintenance and other fitness sessions.


Lanark & District u3a: This local branch of the University of the 3rd Age is for anyone who is retired or semi-retired and those on the young side of the “third age” who are no longer in employment. It provides a wide variety of activities including walking, cycling, dancing, badminton, pickleball and yoga.


VIVA/Villagers in the Valley: is a community group for the over 60’s operating in the Clyde Valley around Crossford, South Lanarkshire and offers a walking programme plus a variety of other activities
